Well Im new to this community.
My one big dream is to make the OLYMPICS in horseriding. showjumping precisely. Ive been riding for years n I dont have a horse at the moment because mine broke his leg a while back and had to be put down. -cries- Its been setback after setback!!
So I havent been able to work towards my dream for a while n have lost some motivation. Only motivation i actually have at the moment is this friend of mine. Not a real life friend but an lj one though I have met her in real too. Anyway shes aiming for the olympics too n that makes me kinda competitive with her. Competitions a good thing right?
Except sometimes it makes me depressed and jealous as she is so much more likely to make it. I have to vent. Shes such a good rider she knows just what to do when to do it and her form is WOW lol. Shes such a good horseperson too. She knows so much n she has this totally kickass horse she could go all the way with. She cant ride much either right now as her horse had a foal but the foal looks like its gonna be great too. She also has a really supportive family who understand her dream which I wish for! My parents arent supportive of me going after a horse job at all. N this girl is even bulding stables n stuff this summer. N shes plannin on getting another horse next year to go pro on soon. I have to admit that she has worked for everything she has. But that doesnt mean I dont feel jealous of her!!
N now Im babbling so Im jus gonna shut up lol. But if anyone can relate please post. Or if anyone has any advise or motivational tips or whatnot. Or if you juss wanna share your dreams with me please do!
I'm all out of faith...This is how I feel:
haha You don't understand just how much I relate to you! lmao Are you talking about Sharon? lol i know her to! I'm also aimin for the Olympics for riding. I've never owned a horse, but up until recently, only setbacks have arisen. My parents are also unsupportive. I mean, they support me but...they don't understand me...
Hey, this could be good for both of us! lol
You know sharon? Oh right weird. But cool lol.
Are you jealous of her too? Im sooooo jealous she has it ALL. But shes like one of my idols in a way.
Sorry youre having setbacks too. Same with my parents n they want me 2 get a job outside of horses. They dont understand this is what I want. :(
How long have you been riding?
lol yea. heck yes I'm jealous of her! She's definantly going to make it, which makes me jealous, but also makes her my hero at the same time. lol I mean, i'm behind her all the way but...yea.
My parents want me to go into sciences or computers. I want to be an Equine vet (my mom was like, yes Kristy a vet! no kristy, not a horse vet. ?!) but I really want to ride competitevly (sp?) and train/own my own training stable. I've been riding for about 4 years now...you?
Yeh I totally know what you mean. Theres no way she aint gonna make it. I support her 2 as shes like a great friends but Im jealous. In a good way tho as shes my hero too. I save all her pix for inspiration lmao. that one blurry pic of her where you can see her jumping form is my desktop lmao.
I think its gonna be so cool in a few years when I can look at her on tv or whatever and say 'i knew her before she was pro!!' lol.
I get what you mean bout your parents. I said I wanted to do science and they were happy and then I said its equine science and theyre like noooo just science please! Do you only wanna work with horses? Ive been riding for bout 6 I guess. Ive a long way to go tho! Are you plannin on gettin a horse?
I think I might juss go beg sharon if shell take me in and train me lol!
I know, I was thinking about it, and you know - it's going to be pretty cool saying that I know an Olympics Rider. lol The picture is your background? =-/ I guess I don't idolize her that much!@ lol Karen O'Connor, Beezie Madden, and Kim Severson are my idols. lol yea, Now I really want to go to Lake Erie and major in Equine Business Managment/Training so I can run my own lesson barn/boarding stable. you know?
lol you should go beg Sharon! She said when she gets all set up, I can go as a working student udner her! I was very excited, although I don't really know if she's serious...lol
I've seriously thought about getting tons of horses, but I don't have the money. I probably won't until after college actually, which really bums me out. I have heard of one that my coach's sister is basically giving away, but he's only walking and trotting right now, b/c he's out of shape. =-/ might be good experience to work him back up but, is it worth the money? you know?
No, you've had a horse? or no?? =-D
Yeh it sure is gonna be! I idolize the famous pros 2 but I look up to her a lot because I "know" her you know. Were close friends tho 2.
She really said you could be a working student? Awesome!! Id take her word 4 it shes always said to me she would take in students when shes set up. Never offered it 2 me tho yet lol. Would you go? Where do you live neway?
How much money are they looking for this horse? Maybe you should try leasing one. Is that an option?
Ive had a few horses. My latests was a 5 y o warmblood called excallibur. But he broke his leg out cross country. n unfortunately was put to sleep. :( I nearly died myself afterwards. Still havent gotten over it properly yet but ive accepted it i guess. Sharon stayed online talking to me all nite when it happened. I was in bits over it.
aw I'm sorry. I live in NY. You know, I bet she'd take u on if you asked! lol it sounds like we could have tons of fun 2gether! lolI love the Name excalibur btw. and, leasing is an option but...idk. lol
Go for it! Do what you love...
"Always shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will still land amongst the stars."
Go for it! I have a horse, and I understand the drive to achieve. Just remember that horseback riding is one of those sports where hard work can really make up a LOT for anything you don't have naturally. Keep going; I'll be rooting for you! :)

I never had a horse, AND I have never taken classes, but I love these animals. Wish you luck in your way up to the Olimpics!
