Introducing myself: - Chase Your Dreams

About Introducing myself:

Previous Entry Introducing myself: Oct. 27th, 2005 @ 02:00 am Next Entry
Hi, I'm Cristina, and I'm a young woman from the SF bay area. I used to live out in Davis (college town near Sacramento, CA) while I went to school and wrote for the newspaper there - but now I'm staying with family until I get back on my feet, and also because my mom's not feeling well.

I enjoy reading, creative writing, movies, music, art and art galleries, hiking, the outdoors, photography, spending time with friends and family, and campaigning for social causes I support.

I wish everyone here all the best in terms of achieving their dreams.

Mine include becoming a professional journalist who covers human-interest stories, who goes around and spotlights local people who are inventing things, helping others, or doing something unique or interesting.

Also, I'd like to have a lovely little place of my own somewhere, and use it so that all my friends and people I know who are struggling can have a place to crash if they can't pay rent sometime. I'd have people over for dinner and run a writer's group out of my home.

And I'd get a book or two published (which I'm actually working on now) and use some of the proceeds to help starving people, women caught in prostitution, and struggling artists. Once people knew who I was, I'd go around and speak on behalf of causes important to me.

Cool dreams...

Are you involved with NaNoWriMo? (I've got friends who are doing it next month. I think it's such a great idea...)

Good luck on your dreams and welcome to the community. Maybe this will get people to post a bit...

Hi

(Link)
Hey there,
I am at my last year of college and next year I am planning on travelling for a while. My dream is to write and sing my own songs. I am currently working on my first and it is goin so great its so fun. My boyfriend has the same idea, he wants to start off just leaving with some saved up money and travel and play, possibly busk in most places so he can afford to eat! But i came up with the idea of documenting it all on the internet so that a possible fanbase could follow his journey. My current plans are to get more of my songs finished so that i can also go and sing my own songs all over europe and let people hear what I have wrote MYSELF!

If you would ever be interested in possibly writing a piece for human-interest issues, i know for a fact id like to see some crazy people leave everything behind and go off in chase of their dreams with nothing but a guitar and microphone. haha but sure get back to me and let me know if your interested. My email is
j_legear@hotmail.co.uk

thanks,
Jen

Hey Cristina Im planning on doing a bit of travelling with my boyfriend and his band soon. You see my dream is to write and sing my own songs, Im currently in the process of my first song and it is going amazing im havin so much fun and now im hooked!
My boyfriend mike has a band and they want to play all over europe in big and small towns, possibly buskin so they can get money for food haha. But yeah we'll probably end up in a field with a guitar, microphone and tent. We want to follow our dreams and hopefully have an amazing life-altering experience along the way.

I was just wondering if you would ever be interested in writing a human-interest story about it when we set out? gimme a shout, it should be a good laugh anyway we're taking a digital camera for the crac so you can see us buskin, campin in fields/streets, singing in small pubs and bars and attempting to get across europe on virtually no money! I think we're gonna document it all online as well in case of a possible fanbase developing but who knows? Gimme a wee e-mail sure, my address is:

j_legear@hotmail.co.uk

hope to speak to ya soon,
Jen x
